Vinyl Garden Hose For Roof Cleaning ??

We don't use it anymore, but we Have.
The DAY the Mean Green Hose bubbled and quit, our guys drove to a dollar store, spent 20 bucks for some 100 ft 5/8 Vinyl Garden hoses, connected them together, hooked em up, finished the job!
Hey, WHATEVER it takes
Vinyl IS resistant to many chemicals, as this chart will show.

Scroll on down, and see for yourself.
The PROBLEM with Garden Hose, is Pressure Rating.
Those with Bandits, or any other pump developing over 100 psi might want to think twice before using garden hose.
UNLESS a Vinyl Garden Hose is found with a higher pressure rating ?

I also think it is unprofessional looking, but IF you are short of money, and just starting out, OR in a pinch, it CAN be used.
I HAVE used it, in the past.
I would be interested in any comments, pro OR Con, from those who use, or have used it ?

In use them all day long Chris!!! They work well, and they are cheap to replace! Great flow too! The only Con is you have to replace the fittings with plastic ones!

Some CAN Kink, but roof cleaning is NOT Pressure Washing!
We are not pulling our hose around corners!
The Hose I HATE is small 3/8 :(
That crap not only works poorly, it can easily get UNDER a shingle, and rip half the roof up when you pull on it!
Bigger hose is less likely to find it's way under a shingle :)

The only hose I'll ever buy is the Craftsman from Sears. If it blows for any reason take it back,,,forever...My house in SC would blow any and every hose I bought within 10min if I stopped the nosle. Even the contractor special at HD. Wicked pressure. Put the craftsman on it and never had a problem again. The pressure was so great within a year the kitchen sink faucet blew 4ft in the air one day..LOL...Scared the crap out of my x. Went and got another Kholer??? and yep within another year BOOM!..finally had to put a reducer on it. But never lost a single Craftsman.

Hell Yeah, it's all about Craftsman! Every tool I buy is Craftsman for this reason. I take back rusty tools every month. They see me coming and say "just go grab it off the shelf".

I use 3/4 inch hose, and hate to argue but I find the NeverKink hose is the best! My first hose I had was a Craftsman, and it was the first to go!

I found a way to keep that from happening. Use the ladder as the hose guide, drape it over the ladder and the hose slides over the top rung.

Russ just curious on why the big tank is behind the axels and the small tank is in the middle?

Yea I did too if i feel resistance I stop pulling and fix it. I would never keep pulling a hose until the roof was tore up. What is that about. Whenever I pull hose (pressure or chemical) if I or my guys feel resistance we DO NOT keep pulling until roofs or plants tear up. Chris maybe I misunderstand what your saying about 3/8 hose ripping up a roof and your insurance premiums going up. Please explain. I LOVE ME SOME 3/8 HOSE It is the best hose ever. ;)

I use the Goodyear (Red) 5/8 rubber hose from Home Depot , comes in 50 foot sections and it last forever even with chems and I run 300 feet on a Titan 18 in SS reel
WOW, you da man, and got more patience then me rolling up 300 feet on a small reel :)
I like, and have ROOM for the biggest Titan Reels.
Aint gotta be pretty, just roll up and go.
Here is a Avatar for you, LOL

I know most folks go with ag or chem hose like kuritec, but what about 1/2 inch air hose rated for 300psi? Any problems I can expect there?
It can work, for awhile .....
Just like 5/8 vinyl garden hose can, from the dollar store.
We all had to crawl before we walked, and some of us started out with cheap chit, until we could afford better.
I always teach to get out and clean some roofs, use what ya got. make u some money, then get some better stuff.
Always rinse air hose or vinyl garden hose out, as soon as you are done.
Watch OUT for any bubbling, cause if that bubble bursts, it can really ruin you day.
