I have a couple of Commercial centers that I do and I can't even go into before 7am and I can't clean after 10 pm at night, the city makes the rules for some of the newer centers when the are being built.

So to keep everybody happy we comply with there rules.........

Start commercial work around 7:30 and residential at 9:00 and some people still complain.

Muffler Mod .. I got a friend that has the same whitco as mine.. 13 hp Honda.. Take the manifold off where the muffler bolts on should be 3 bolts.. take your old muffler and cut out the outside of it .. there is a pipe inside about 1 inch.. Now go to the auto parts store and get some flex muffler pipe and the cheapest car muffler you can find and clamp it together.. or you can have the muffler mounted straight up from the manifold but not a too heavy one.. It has been on his like this for about 4 years in an enclosed trailer with the muffler running out of the floor with the flex muffler tubing and it just makes a low rumble sound..

Start time

between 8 and 9, people will always complain.

Our first residential job starts at 9:00 AM, this allows us time in case traffic is really bad. Then we give the next appts a window time usually 11:00-11:30 or something like that, most people understand that we are a service and things come up.

Commercial works starts whenver, depends on each situation. Tonight we are starting a resturaunt at 2:00 AM, thats when they close tonight (they have a bar).

start times

Our start time changes daily depending on amount of work scheduled. How much night work scheduled and location, location location!
Usually like to start as early as possible but never before 9 if using loud engines.

Nothin stupider than a painter with 25' of hose on a cold water washer at 8:30 am. Idiot rolls it to backyard right perfect spot to wake the babies of 5 kitty cornered households. Is one thing if they got a long day ahead but this guy starts and stops it off and on for 30 minutes and calls it a day. Isn't even painting or needing it dry the same day. What a brainless dumb ass!!

In general, as far as the laws here in the Phoenix area, work that exceeds 80 decibels in occupied residential areas can be done sunup to sundown. Thats a general statement. I don't start a residential job in the winter months until after 7am, summertime 5:30 to 6 am (Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Desert Mountain 6am)
