Do you guys use apple sauce for cedar roofs? What do you guys do with all the chemical you rinse? Thanks guys.
 
Hey Jon, cedar is best done with sodium percarbonate. May take a few applications depending on degree of mold and dirt and pitch. Neutralize with oxalic.

The beauty of the percarbonate is it's very "green". Other than that,...with the hypo,... I don't rinse,..but when I did it just got diluted in the rinse water.

dude in a 100 gal tank, 30 gal 12%hc, 2quarts ajax, and 2quarts alchohol.
I believe that was named apple cider, from chris at apple
I did not make this recipe but its good.

Apple Sauce is my "invention".
I came up with it by trial and error.
But Apple Cider is NOT :(
It came from my research into US Patents for improved Sodium Hypochlorite cleaning mixtures.
The US Patent Apple Cider is loosely based on references the addition of a Surfactant and a Tertiary Alcohol to a Sodium Hypochlorite/Water mixture.
When I published the mixture - some Beta Testers jokingly called it "Apple Cider" :)
The name stuck - so Apple Cider it is.
It is an easy to make - very effective roof cleaning mix.
The Alcohol in it aids the penetration of the SH/Water/Surfactant mixture into the Roof Algae/Dirt.
For REAL dirty roofs - simply double the Alcohol content and watch it clean :D
 
It amps it up some, throw some white table vinigar in it to really give it some power, just be careful of the fumes.....
 
2 gallons........ it will turn it acidic, use it within an hour! The vinigar will drop the Sodium Hyd's PH. Works great on white roofs.

The Alcohol, add half gallon...... Thats what has worked for me.. tweek to your liking, and to how dirty of a job your doing!

so what does vinger do to the bleach makes stronger or cn let you get way with less bleach.
 
What is the most important thing here is that you try out and see what works for you, your fungus will probably be a little different than what is in other parts of the country.

You might need a lot of stuff in your mix or you probably don't.

You will not know until you try it out. Start out with the basics of Love,water and some soap, most people I talk to use this and it works great. You might need other stuff but you do not know until you try this stuff out.
