City Water price check

To those who use city fire hydrants to feed their tanks. I was wondering how much do you guys pay?

Here is the deal in the city of Miami (I think it covers the whole Dade County)
First is the Fire Department permit: $175
Second is the deposit for the floating meter: $2500 (refundable)
Third is the cleaning fee paid up front: $140
The last is the actual water: $1.39 per gallon..
And all that when there is water all over the place. I would rather use a pump and fill up the tanks from the lakes and canals around..

Did you type that right? $1.39 PER GALLON???

I pay a dollar and some change per 1000 gallons at our town pump station, but hardly use it because my customers let me fill up at their locations (commercial).

Water Meter Deposit $165.00 (refundable)
Water $4.00 per Thousand gal.
Not living in Miami (priceless)

I jumped twice and almost got a heart attack when the city clerk told me that :). I asked twice. I too believe he was incompetent and probably made a mistake on the price of the water, but the rest charges were valid :).

Back home in Raleigh, NC I pay 6 per thousand and 28 a day per meter. I just flowed 425,000 gallons in knoxville and paid 2.50 per thousand with no daily charge.

Yup.. I guess the girl meant 1.39 per 1000 gallons. It makes more sense..

The deposit fee in the city of Hollywood, FL was $1500 and application fee of $250 as far as I remember when I checked with them half an year ago.
