How cold?

Alright, for you seasoned pro's: How cold before you pack it in for the night? It is 28-29 degrees here in Florida tonight, and the wind chill is around 19 degrees. I have weekly jobs that I can't push out (at least I don't want to make a habit of it) and want to know what temps you will typically cut off?

I am only concerned about possible damage to my equipment. I don't mind working in freezing temps (obviously I don't prefer it), but I don't want to ruin hoses or my pump. Anyone here have any experience with losing a cold weather gamble?

I froze up my rig last year on the way to a job.Froze it up again this year again on the way to a job. These were days in the mid 20's were the temp didn't climb quickly and had wind chill.
Do what you want, but be sure your insurance premium is paid up.1 slip and fall of an employee or customer can be expensive.

We cut off when there is a slip and fall hazard, which means no temps above freezing for 24 hours. Cold weather we are used to. This season has been tough. We haven't been above freezing for quite a while. Not normal for up here. Supposed to be 48 by Friday. May get a motorcycle out if no rain.

Yep, I agree with Scott. If it's below 29, my trailer is parked with a small heater inside.

Too much liability, besides, the only thing that you really could be cleaning in that temp is concrete. House washing is completely off the table when it's below 45 for me, although 60 is the ideal minimum. Same with roof cleaning.

I'll wash windows in any temp. Well, almost.

If its 28 at night you should be well above freezing by 9-10am andshould be fine.

It's how cold in Florida?!! I have worked a couple of nights where it was Icing up hoses, stuff in the truck bed, on the ground. What I found is driving around is when the equipment will really freeze.

Micah, if theres ice/frost on the roof when you get there, if you have hot water hit it with that, if not just hit it with faucet water and it'll thaw quicker as long as its above freezing. You may have to wait untill early afternoon.

I think the original question was how low of temps. We clean as long as its above 32 degrees. Luckily, when its this cold, we're so slow it doesnt really matter much.

You guys who pressure was alot can hook up warming blankets and put them on your hose reels to keep the hoses from freezing between jobs....
