Recycling system in the UK

M-CLEAN UK

Not been on for a while - just been a massively busy start to the year and it looks like we have another couple of months of this.

You may or may not be aware that we are not bound by any legislation to recover waste water on pressure washing set ups in the UK and it is very much the choice of the operator. They are virtually non existent, possibly used in stone cleaning, graffiti removal & building cleaning where there is a requirement to use poultices, chemicals & on sensitive area/s.

The problem we have is our rainfall is extremely low and we are looking at the worst rainfall over the last twelve months for about 30 years. In the bottom half of the country most of the water supply companies have imposed hosepipe bans on the domestic market, so no watering, washing cars etc.

On the 4th of July this could escalate to a drought order - where commercial operations will be affected and stopped from operating. This is very serious and I do a great deal of work all over the country, possibly a 60/40% split.

I am choosing to have wash water recycling system/s made to fit into my operation vehicle/s. We work differently to yourselves in as much as most of the work is done in closed body vans - you seem to work off large trailers.

My problem is condensing everything down to fit around the Hot and Mighty I have and for the other van. There is not a lot of space.

We have a very small supply market for this and my set up is currently being made to order.

Has anyone got any feedback on making an ultra compact recycling system that may suit my requirements.

Rob :wink2:

Yes there is that. I don't know how it works over there but here we have tachographs for any vehicle over 3.5 tonne and if you are towing a trailer for commercial purposes, outside of a 50km radius of where you operate from.

These limit driving and work related activities to 45 hours per week and there must be specified breaks and non movement of the vehicle. It is all recorded on a card reader that is person specific.

We work way over 45 hours per week and I have been down that route and am trying to avoid it again.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Sadly we are not far behind you in America, but that is just unbelievable. Well, when I saw your traffic cameras put in long ago, I thought 'that could NEVER happen here because people would just wreck them in revolt' but look at us now.

Install a rack and use some space above the roof? I think some cartridge type filters are narrow, maybe they could lay flat.
