I'm trying to help actually...not sure why you are so defensive about it. I've always thought of you as a friend Ron. I realize you don't roof clean and I also realize that you and your full time blogger are promoting this site with the "big tent" approach, but....

As an example of my concerns, I'll use your concerns for the Houston area pressure washers and the restrictive enforcement issue.....
You didn't take a "live and let live" position with that issue. It's the same Ron, maybe there were pressure washers in Houston that liked and followed the Houston BMP's. Maybe there were more in other cities. Why did you come out so strongly for one side in that issue?

Because you knew the Houston rules were incorrect and overreaching and harmful to the industry.

There is ample information available on the internet as to the position of the manufactures of the shingles on pressure washing a roof. The same with the recommended detergent. Most of the professional roof cleaners battle the misinformation directed at the ARMA method roof cleaners across the internet every day. We do that for almost the same reasons you did in Houston. All I'm saying is that if you don't understand roof cleaning then at least "Primum non nocere" (do no harm). There isn't really anything gained (seo wise) as far as I can tell for pushing the gimmick cleaner in the Houston market.

If you are banking on happy homeowners, pleased they stumbled on your link, keep in mind that we (roof cleaners) get calls all the time from these dissatisfied homeowners that felt conned out of their money. After $100-$200 in education, they have to hire one of us to clean the roof. Either that or they get on their roof with a pressure washer because they are again, following your informative video link. Do you really think that's a good idea Ron?

BTW, your DIY example isn't exactly relevant to this subject. For starters, the people aren't getting the cleaner from a Houston company. Second, they have no need to call one since the product you promoted says they can do it themselves. You might have a point if one of the Houston roof cleaners set up a booth or something and gave away samples or instructions.

If your claim is that this is smart marketing...then please explain who in Houston benefits from this? Maybe I do have a long way to go cause I see no link, no name, no call to action....nothing that converts the impression to this site, a contractor or vendor....well, except for the people that make and sell it. If that's who you were referring to then I stand corrected.

Having a full time blogger for this site and the members is a great idea. Randomly grabbing stuff off the internet and posting it here that is detrimental to the members and industry...not so much.

I look at us all as Cleaning service pros, not roof cleaners not pressure washers. This is part of the problem in itself Barry.

Everyone wants there piece of the pie, well I'm not here to separate for divide us.
