Line in the concrete

How do I stop these lines? I have a 4k psi 4gpm cold water machine with a
16" surface cleaner. Everytime I do concrete I get thses lines and it looks like crap. Anyone know whats wrong?

Hey Scott,

You get the lines because you're cleaning that area twice (the overlap). Also, you could be etching the cement if it's not able to withstand the pressure you're using. When I get them I can normally get rid of them by spraying the surface with Sodium Hypochlorite (let it sit for 5-10 mins and they normally disappear). You don't need a high concentration, maybe dilute your 12% 3:1 or 4:1. Should be strong enough . . . probably stronger than needed. If that doesn't work then I've had to go over it again sideways. Try the SH first.

We get them all the time, New tips, lower pressure doesn't matter.
Its where your machine is cleaning it twice look at the picture below.
...and going sideways makes the patern the opposite way.(looks neat tho)
Bleaching afterwards really helps!

I tried the SH application, and it didnt work. I was wondering what tips are on all you're surface cleaners? Ours seem to be 0 degree tips, and looks like its just etching it. Are they supposed to be pinpointed, or should I get new, wider tips for it?

Tips for surfacers should be 15 or 25 degeees and if your washer is a 4 GPM you should have 1502 or 2502 tips in each nozzles of the surfacer
 
I bought a 20" piece of crap from Northern Tool, and it did the same thing. They come with 0 degree tips in them. We installed 15 degree and it was somewhat better. Then I got a Big Guy.......WOW.
The cheap one I have was too slow due to the swivel. I put hot water on it and it got really slow.
