Like Jerry was saying it all depends on flow the more the gpm the more nozzles you can run. I try not to get below 2 gpm per nozzle (3 is better) to get the impact force on the surface while still maintining a good pace.
I have been using a 4 nozzle classic with a 8 gpm hot unit for years. Due to space shortage I picked up a collapsible 24" ground force. I used a 2 nozzle configuration and it was ok. I shifted to a 4 nozzle and the speed is fantastic! It seems 50% faster or better.
