what if we gave a pw away? what would be a good contest. how could we choose a winner fairly. what could be the contest?

any replys would help, we have had contest in the past.
 
Have nominations for the following:

Best Business Name
Best Logo
Best Motto

and set-up a poll for people to vote.
(Just think of the traffic that it will create)


Start a thread and get nominations-based on the response, create a poll-where people can view the different logo's and vote-the same goes for business names and slogans.


A business name that I always really liked and their logo as well- is OASIS Pressure Washing. He use to post on here a lot - from California.

#1 How bout an increased member to PWI contest. Do it for one month, track through sign ups who recommended, who ever gets the most gets the new pw. Must have x amount of new member sign up to qualify and then give away to the one with the most past that number.

#2 I like the idea Tim (above) has.

#3 Have a contest for the best written, Why I Like being a Power Washer ? Must be at least 300 words or something like that.

Just some ideas.
 
my favorite is polls............whoever makes the poll that gets the most responses and votes in a month.....
 
I like that one too. When do we start. Hey Ron, remember that poll you spoke of. Maybe that can be the starter.

Are there any distributors/manufacturers willing to put something up as a prize? If so, we can then seriously discuss the actual contest.
 
I tell ya what. For maybe 3rd or 4th place, I have a used Wagner Paint Pro Airless Sprayer with 25' hose, Gun and two different size tips I will throw in. I will even pay for shipping just to see something going on this.

My luck, I will win 3rd or 4th place. But, I like contest....

Why do we need a price?

Lets have contest in all the ideas listed above. What better of a price, than to be voted best in something by your peers?
 
This contest seems like a good idea but where's the machine coming from and how is it going to be paid for? Looks to me like it would be a contest/raffle.

Maybe participants could buy a spot in the contest (whatever it may be), and then open up the contest. Or just simply have a raffle. Either way I don't know of anywhere or anyone who's going to relinquish a machine just to have a contest for everyone. The machine would have to be paid for somehow. I'd be happy to offer a good price on a machine and even assist in the contest but I can't handle the entire ticket.

Also, with voting, people tend more to vote for people they like, not necessarily the ones who would win the contest. No matter what you do, if the majority here doesn't like you, then you're not going to win no matter what you do. So I think the vote contest wouldn't be a fair contest. A raffle on the other hand would be. That's just my opinion.

we have had contest in the past and distributors did donate things to the contest. I'm not asking anyone to donate anything, i just want a good idea for a contest that would maybe benifit everyone.

I bumped this back to the top, The reason I did this is to show some interest in the contest.

I dont have any ideas about a contest, nor have the quality to win with this crowd.

But I do have a suggestion on a prize, we all know that a machine is out the question, but how about some cleaning compond. This way nobody breaks an account, the distributer gets bragging rights on a product tested by a true unbias opinion, the winner will have a choice of the cleaning compond.
