Armex Soda

Just wondering if anyone has tried the Armex Baking Soda Media Injector along with their chemical (Armex Soda - Hydroflex).

It LOOKS great, and the guys at Arm and Hammer say it IS great.

For $250 I can get a hopper and 500# of the hydroflex. It's not that expensive to get a setup.

$0.25-0.30 per pound. They say that a 50# bag will last for about 30-45 minutes of cleaning, depending on how tough the area is to be cleaned.

What are planning to clean? I have a dry soda system, that works off a 185 CFM compresor. Works great on carbon, not good on grease.

I have no idea. First, have to know how they work or if you can modify the system to work in a better manner.

A rep said that the ARMEX brand is the ONLY way to go (of course, their product) however, he also said that older ARMEX isn't as good as the older stuff of theirs. He said that clumping and bridging is an issue with some of the ther brands. According to him, the "NEW" Armex soda has flow additives and
anti-clumping agents that older Armex soda's do not have.

Grease as in ANY grease? I.E. Parking lots AND kitchen hoods?
What about a mix of your normal preferred degreaser and the Armex? I wonder how effective that would be?

One question I have is the pickup hose. How long can it actually be? It would be cool if it could reach 100' but I don't know if it can draw the checmical up to 100'.

I have not used the wet(Wadoo) system, however soda works only as a point of sight. In short soda is not what you would use to clean a hood and verticals. Carbon, paint removal, log homes, tile cleaning, swimming pools and so on. You could strip the paint off a car in two hours, but it will move grease from one point to another and not clean a thing.

Give me a call-will be happy to talk with you.:)

Not really looking to use it as a hood "cleaner", but just wondering what possible applications it might have. And what it can do when combined with something (such as degreaser). For example, after a good hood cleaning, what would this do to a hood AFTER the grease was removed? Make it shine?

The paint remover seems like a good possibility, and the carbon. Those are two types of filters that we clean now.

So, dumpster / grease pads would be a good place to use this I am going to think.

I quote them:

HydroFlex Formula XL

Designed specifically for use with pressure washers and the WADU Soluble Media Injector. HydroFlex combines our largest crystals and standard moisture control system with our patented grease and oil removal technology, which allows you to actually remove it rather than just move it around.

I wonder if they would allow a 'trial' period of use - perhaps with a rental charge. I once did this with a real 'steam' unit to try in place of our hot-water pressure washer. A real steamer does work well without the cleanup of a p/w, but it was entirely too slow for me therefore we returned it without obligation.

Buy it and use it-great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardly. Absolutely no intention to purchase unless it is effective for me - and they know this up-front. In respect to the steam machine all of this was in agreement. It didn't work for me - it is better to pay $400 - $500 rental than $5,000+ to purchase something that will gather dust. Just common sense. I would like to have something that will blast off carbon - but would want to rent first. If I find a distributor/manufacturer in agreement I will post it - I trust others will do the same.
