baking soda

Hello all,
Sorry for the basic question, but I got to do it; Is the baking soda used for graffiti removal the same as sodium bicarbonate (nahco3)? If so, Can I use regular baking soda like I see in the grocery store, in a sandblasting device? If someone could clear out this doubt for me, I’ll appreciate.
