bucket truck pricing

Thanks for all the welcomes. Glad I found pwi, so much info on here. Just wondering if someone could help me with my pricing. I just bought a 40' bucket truck and wanted to know what you think i could charge it out for. I have a cold water unit and a hot water unit mounted to it.

It depends on who you want to rent it out to.

You can call electrical companies, sign companies, window cleaners, etc...

Some people rent it out for $200.00 per day and fuel but some will do more or less depending on how long the job is.

If you want to get more for the rental, you need to call comanies and let them know about it and offer a cheaper weekly rate because sometimes projects last more than a day or two.

I have not seen any bucket trucks for rent here but I have contacted a few electrical companies, sign companies, window cleaners and a pressure washing friend of mine and told them about the bucket truck. I have not rented it out that much but I am willing to since I do not use it every day.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering what kind of hourly rate I could charge for pressure washing with it. What would you charge if you had to rent a lift to do a job?

Call around the area for prices for the lifts they rent and try to memorize those prices to if a customer asks, you will know.

When I am giving a price, I will let them know that the Lift will be xxx. per day so they know that upfront and then I give them the price.

I do not charge it by the hour because the lift is charged by the day, week or month.

Also they do charge the deliveryfee, pickup fee, any fuel not replaced, insurance (14% of rental fee) and tax so remember to put that into the total cost of the lift.

If it is something that I can do with my bucket truck, that is better for me because I charge to use the bucket truck or I would be charging for a manlift, either way a lift is needed for certain jobs.

So, figure out what you would charge for doing the job and then add in the lift (all expenses for the lift in one price). I do let them know on the proposal that the lift is on there too so they look for that and understand the pricing.
