Building A New Flatbed Rig

Tim im going to look at a 18 ft npr flatbed today. only thing i dont like is its a steel bed.

Whats wrong with steel? Ryno cote the steel. I have one 15 years old. No real problems.

Wood decks have gone bad on me with in a few years.

Damn Aluminum went up in price... Maybe thats why soda is so expensive in the can.. I went and looked at some aluminum and decided to build me a full 2x6 box frame for the f-150 bed .. And guess what I found at the scrape yard in Yazoo City ( Diamond Plate ) !! This is going to be a nice project. I also have two sheets of 16 guage Stainless steel that I am going to build some underside storage boxes out of.. And finally I am going to get the swivel for my 300 ft hose reel and some new non marking hose... We are going to put a Draw Tite behind the van to pull the trailer while I work on the truck ... I figure about 2500.00 for what I want to do with it.. I will take photos... We still havent found the box truck yet but we are going to the auction next week to take a look...

Russ, I couldn't tell ya. I work off of it now, we use it and my ranger on jobs together. I need to test a few more things out before I plumb it permanently. I am mounting this 10.6 @ 580 hypro, gear reducted to a 4hp honda (extra rinse pump) on it though.

I got some cutting done today. I cut all the pieces long and I'm going to take them to a friend of mines machine shop and use his hydraulic feed band saw to make perfect cuts. I hope to get some welding done in the next two weeks, She's slowly coming together.

Thats a Pretty bed
