burner question

I recently installed a new thromostat, factory orginal for All American, it is about 3 month old and works fine compared to the after market one it replaces.

My problem is the last couple weeks I have to turn it up higher to get heat, normally run it at 180° but does not seem to be hot so now it is at 200°.

Any idea as to why it is doing this, what is the fix or fixes?

I like to try and take a educated guess.
I bet it get's a scale on it just like a coil. This scale [from hard water] prevent's it from working properly.
Give it an acid bath.
Maybe your just getting old? lol
It is way warmer outside then it was 3 month's ago and because you said "seem's" which is a personal perception and not a fact because you did'nt use a seprate thermomerter to check it. It might be senility kicking in.
Do you go looking for your glass's for more then 2 min just to find them on top of your head? Do you ever sit in front of the TV thinking "why am i watching this?" and have the remote in your hand? Do you ever try and start your car/truck while is running?
are you starting to really read playboy?
these are the sign's.

Does it look like this?

I would imagine that when you put a new thermostat in, you may have to adjust it or fine tune it. Don't know for sure. Maybe you got a bum thermostat. Maybe your coils are scaled... Have you got the water softner yet? It could save your entire system.

Was it doing this after you changed or did it just start with the new thermostat in for a while? That would narrow it down.

I will deal with you later, when I can remember what it is I was going to say!

John,Wiz nope, it is round with dial in center.

Factor All American thermo. control switch and probe.

Perhaps I did not say it was the switch & probe that was replaced.

What in heck was it Ron P. asked me, oh yeah what can he do to slow down his memory loss. :D

Okay as you know these things have bi-metal in them and te numbers on the dial are not 100% accurate. For a true temp reading a digital themp gage is the best. You can buy one for under $20. Th knobs on some of these temp controls are adjustable as well. The indication is a referance only not an exact temp. As a bi-metal strip bends back in to shape the tolerance will change a little. as long as the temp control is working it it fine.
