Does everyone put something to absorb moisture in the containers of caustic beads. I just started using caustic and mine is sticking together and getting hard as a rock.
Warning never use your bare hands to touch caustic, even the smallest amount of moisture on your skin will cause the caustic to react and cause severe burns. Never use caustic without having either a citric acid base or white vinegar nearby to neutralize the caustic if it gets onto your skin.
Never store the caustic in the bags they come in as the caustic will pull moisture out of the air and start clumping together.
Look for some type of sealing container like these gamma seals, they are air-tight and work great. I am about to order some more. They make a regular bucket into a container with a large screw-top lid.
I went to Stride rite (local shoe store) and asked them if they would save me the silica packs that come in shoe boxes to absorb moisture. Went back a few weeks later and they had about a hundred of them for me. My caustic comes in 100lb drums. I throw a handful of the little packets in the drum, no problems.
