Check card compromised!

Recently I had my check/debit card information stolen. I believe it was scanned at a local gas station. The culprits apparently made a dummy card and used it at a home depot a couple of hundred miles away. I confronted the clerk at the gas station, and she told me several people have complained about it. Luckily I check my accounts every night to make sure there are no fraudulent charges on them. I spotted the transaction right away, and called BOA fraud department. They cancelled my card on the spot. Today I went to the bank and talked to an investigator. They filed my claim and I should be ok. She also told me that they tried to charge more stuff today but was declined. Moral of the story; never use a debit card at a gas station!

Cardlock cards for fuel, visa for everything else. If somebody gets my visa account info I get the bill, flag it, get it removed. If somebody gets my debit card info, its a lot harder to get the money back, and cheques or payments can bounce.
That's exactly what the bank investigator told me. I applied for a business credit card. That's the route I will be going.
