Anyone else freezing their @$$ off? It's in the single digits at night here! Adds 30mins to 1hr per job!

Brian, do I lower the flaming torch down on a rope or the frozen grease.
Jfalle, the gas goes under the hood, that way all of the the whole sheet metal is warmed up at the same time. A match and some crumpled newspaper may help soften the grease.
If you think I am going to sign this, you are crazy enough to do the gas thing.

We've seen it remain below zero for weeks at a time. We expect below zero by tomorrow night. Previously I would stay home and watch TV, but an old hood cleaner just told me how easy it can be in these conditions (no, it wasn't Douglas). He suggested that you simply bang on the hood and ductwork with a hammer, then sweep up that which breaks off. Don't even need to polish the hood. No need to go up to the fans - it is so cold no one will go up on the roof to check your work. In & out in 20 minutes. I dunno, sounds like it could work - whacha' think?
