Ok I got a pressure gauge today and hooked it onto my EPPS 20HP honda, General TS2021 pump skid mount rig.
According to the sticker on the outside of the unit I'm supposed to be pushing 4.8 GPM @3500 PSI, however, the manual says 5.2 GPM @ 3500 PSI.
Hooked on my Big Guy surface cleaner and got a pressure reading of about 2900 PSI but what really shocked me was when I put on one of my nozzles and it only registered 2600 PSI using a Spray Systems Co. QCMEG 2025 tip!
I can understand the lower pressure with the BG due to it probably being pre-equipped from the factory to handle higher GPM's but the nozzle pressure is really throwing me off.
Its not a problem with my unloader I don't think because when I let off the trigger it kicks out at about where it should, 3500 PSI.
From what I understand, the TS2021 pump will handle either 5.6 GPM @ 3500 PSI or 4.5 GPM @ 3500 with the rated horsepower depending on pump input speed.
I'm wondering though, that since the unit was made in Canada, if they are using the Imperial gallon measurement instead of the U.S. gallons.
If thats the case, then the machine is running about what the rated capacity of the pump should be.
That still does not explain the 2600 PSI out of my nozzles. I'm thinking someone at the factory goofed and gave me the wrong tips. According to SS Co. the particular nozzle is only rated at 3000 PSI... so that might explain the lower pressure... the unit has been tipped down.
This is not good, I want the max pressure and flow from my unit!!
