Cutting Restaurant Grease

$150 ?? That should buy you 2, 50 pound bags.

Whats the average price for 50 lbs ?

Found one and only company so far that can get for me, but they wan $150 per 50 pounds.

Any ideas on keywords for searching online for a supplier? I have tried the basic words with limited results in my area.

50 lbs for $150 is crazy!

I thought I paid alot at $55 with tax for 50 lb bag.

I found it today for $49 a bag.:clapping: Now just need to find the right mixture that works well for me.
Cool! I think the general starting point is 1lb per gallon. I use 5 cups per 5 gallons.
You can search for the "Pressure Washing Cookbook" here on PWI and there's caustic info in it.

Let us know after you try it out. You should notice a huge difference on the grease. I did these the other night with caustic...

Your right about general starting point, but I'm curious have you ever weighed the cup?

I found some for 37.00............Russ Johnson sells it for 50.00 I think. Its worth giving him the extra 13.00 bucks .....support is priceless over the difference in that little of cost. The other company sells me sh for 2 a gallon which is .75 cheaper than what I am buying it for now. I will be changing next yr to 55gal drums.......

Awesome pics Bro! You might think about watermarking them. Lots of thieves roam these boards.

As for the caustic mix, if you're doing 8oz per gallon of water, you might try 6oz + 2oz surfactant. It will work much better ;)

Thanks Anthony, I do need to start watermarking all my pics. This may sound dumb since I've been doing this a while now, but what specifically do you mean by a "surfactant", like what chem, brand, etc.? To this day, I've only used sh.

Nope, never weighed the cup, I just use a small kids plastic cup which is about 1 cup. No need to weigh it if I have the mix just right for what I need.

Hey Owen, did you ever start using the caustic (SH)?

Soap... try plain dawn dishwashing liquid. You will be happy with the results.:wink2:
