CVS Pharmacy's

Ron,

I clean awnings and recently did a test area for a CVS here in Tenn. The manager wanted it done very badly but said that CVS had cut way back on maintenance.

Trammel Crow is the pm here in this region. They won't do anything, and the awning is horrible along with the concrete.

I couldn't get anywhere with them. I see alot of CVS in this area that are in bad shape.

Interesting to see if you can make some progress.

Trammel Crow around here doesnt spend any money either.
they just started another division call Fazer property co.

I gave a bid to a local CVS last year for an exterior building wash, sidewalk and dumpster pad cleaning, and gum removal.

I really wanted the job, so I bid it very competively, hoping to get a foot in the door.

After two weeks of hearing nothing, I phoned the store manager, and was told they had a lower bid, and went with that one.

A week or so later, I saw a guy washing with a cold water rig, no chems, and no surface cleaner. He didn't get the concrete real clean, and the gum spots were still partially there. And the dumpster are still looked like hell.

So my impression is that they were looking strictly at price, and not so much at really doing the job right.

Unless you really need the work, it may not be worth your time.

CVS and the rest

Ron,
Same as Tony's response in Southern Jersey. While I am on that the same goes for the KFC's we used to do (price),they now look like crap. WAWA's (like 7-11's) they told me $75.00/store , that was it, no negotiating, didn't matter what size store, current condition, or anything else. What I started doing was using my digital camera to take pictures after they leave and send them a bid with another picture of what we do! I would tell you what I saw at a local McDonalds the other day but that would take forever to tell you all about and just heat me up ,too early for that!

thanks, any more info appreciated.

I guess they hire a mang co. o take of these things. Anymore info on that would be appreciated. someone actually doing busz could call that would be wonderful.

I clean Walgreens in SC. They are CVS's biggest competitors and in this area are excellent for keeping up their PW maintanence. Maybe you could use that as leverage.

Ron,

I to have been trying to get in the door with these guys. Managers don't seem to care. Need a good contact number at thier HQ.

question for new guy

just wondering if you can give me a figure on the price you charge for a walgreens and what you do to it, thanks for any info

We did a job for a CVS in Ohio. It was not a good Experiance,we had to deal with Corporate Service Network out of New York.
I Bid the job very fairly, Corporate told me I would have a check in 30 days. After many phone calls to Corporate and a whole lot of run-a-round I got paid in the ballpark of 120 days. I told Corporate Service Network not to contact Me for any future work, and I would do My very best to let other contractors aware of there slow pay practices.
