In the picture where you have the tape running on the outer side of the hood. Another way would be to clean the outer surface and take 8 inches or so of tape and place two pieces, make a "X" every few feet or so-then put your plastic up. you will find it much easier and hold much better with lees tape.
O OK I will try that, I Always freak out when no ones below. just had a bad experience one time and always taped entire hood after that.(went below after cleaning fan, duct and found luckally 10 gals of wash water balloned up in funnel next to barrel.could have been a real mess, but shop vac't it outThanks Mikey
why don't you use the same clamps you are using to hold the plastic shut to hold it to the hood as well, it may also help to invest in magnets, they would pay for themselves quickly with all the tape you would save.
Yes,magnets are on the way belive me, also cant seem to avoid mess if clamps are attactch to the hood (because of drip rail) anyother ideas to use clamps on the hood and avoid over spill?
Have you ever thought about going to a car audio shop and asking if you can get some bad speakers, for the magnets??
i'd think a 20 oz. magnet would hold fast??
I notice that in the pic of Jr. in the van the lack of a cage
we have cages installed behind the seats of our vans so if we have to make a sudden stop nothing goes flying into the back of our heads
Never would of thought of that Richard, Thanks I have a good friend that owns a car stereo shop here. Bye the way I sell these vans new and used and just waiting for someone to trade or give up that cage you are talking about to put in mine.
No-use only the magnets that are round and have a take off hole. When a magnet clamps on it can be a problem to get off unless you have one that has a break hole.
