Do you have a PW Invention Idea?

PW Invention Idea:

Here’s what I’m thinking, there’s a lot of smart people out there that have ideas for new types of PW equipment, but don’t necessarily have the resources available to produce it. I have an excellent fabricator (welder, machinist, etc) that can develop prototypes and bring those ideas to fruition. Although its not always an easy task and requires an ongoing commitment of time and money. If you’re interested, I would be interested in bringing those ideas to life. This my first blush as this (as a facilitator, but not inventor), and I don’t have all the answers, so I’m really open to suggestion, however I would assume it would break down something like this:

First, I would be happy to sign any Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that protects you from your idea being shared with others. We can figure out which one to use.

Second, I would assume it would follow one of these 3 options:

1. You pay for the development of the prototype, shipping, etc. You own the prototype and all intellectual property and it is your responsibility for ensuring it (i.e. Patent). You pay me a facilitation fee (negotiable) but I would expect the price to be about 1 good days PW sales.

2. You pay for the development of the prototype, shipping, etc. You own the prototype and all intellectual property and it is your responsibility for ensuring it (i.e. Patent). You pay me a reduced facilitation fee, and we sell your product exclusively (for a fixed time) on PowerWashStencils.com. I receive a commission on the sales (TBD).

3. Together we agree to develop the prototype. We split the cost of prototype development, shipping, etc. We both equally own the prototype and all intellectual property, and are equally charged with ensuring it (i.e. Patent). There is no facilitation fee. We sell your product on PowerWashStencils.com. We determine the commission structure, most likely 50/50 minus costs.

Obviously none of this has been put to the test yet, so while all agreements will be binding, the development of this agreement is subject to change.

Please feel free to comment or contact me on here, or if you require privacy feel free to send me an email at PowerWashStencils.com.

Thanks Marc

I offer looking out for them and being a sparky 20 year old that isn't afraid to speak up . .. . to often i see people get hushed for speaking up on stuff like this. Just like the whole ladder save deal thats a $48 00xx tip that will be sold to hacks that will in turn hurt the industry . . . but hey what do i know right? I mean i'm just an immature kid with a water gun!

This is the distributor forum...

Distributor & Manufacturer Area - Sell your Equipment Here Any Retailer can post things for sale. If contractors need prices ask here. Distributors pleas post anything here you like !

DJ, you're not 'an immature kid with a water gun'...

As far as the ladder saver goes, folks will always buy new 'gadgets' or buy into 'new methods' of doing things.... it's up to the individual to decide what works and what doesn't.

I think that's part of the 'beauty' of these boards is that the guys who are gonna be around a long time or are building a 'business' (like yourself DJ), take the time to read and digest thoughts, opinions and feedback - and ultimately make this information work for themselves... I've not tried the ladder saver and don't intend on trying it, if someone else is using it, it won't bother me as I have other methods of achieving the same result.

I don't see anything wrong with Marc's post... looks like he is exploring avenues to advance his business (as we all do) - if it helps someone turn their ideas into reality, GREAT. If we're not interested and don't trust his intentions, steer clear.

... maybe the next big thing will come from his post, and make someone big bucks - who knows?!?!

:)

Man, I just ordered the ladder saver like 15 minutes ago. I didn't know trying new products made me a hack though, lol. I still love my xjet.

I appreciate you looking out for me Scrappy, you may be 20, but you are an old soul.

Marc, I dig the offer. I have a million ideas that are hovering around going nowhere.

Steven for President, a man for the people!

mmm...... I bought a laddersaver (and like it over hose barb, and washjet nozzles as per my test results) but have also bought no spill buckets for my xjet that took dollars to make and various tip holders and to many other tools of the trade that could make our job easier and every time I see one of these things come up.....I think man...I wish I thought of that!!!
Kudos for the entrepreneurs who constantly think of how to make things to help the biz and to be rewarded for it!!

I honestly think its bull that they get to post this stuff here . ..

If we all thought like that modern technology would not be what it is today...We would still be driving Model T's and flying around in bi-planes:D and space travel would have NEVER HAPPENED....
Being a high level Machinist Gov't aerospace included. myself and having 15+ yrs. in the trade I really find this comment not well thought out...imo Where would our US soldiers be without seeking improvement in quality and processes??? Next time you see a big green chopper flying through the sky dealing death as needed or bringing our men and women in armed forces home to their waiting families, not to mention medical inventions, or see a farmer harvesting his crops, or the person that pays his bills through his trade you can thank a machinist..... Your welcome Scrappy...

I've thought up and created quite a few new tools for us and applied for patents on them. I've also given out lots of ideas and suggestions on equipment, and a lot of other pressure washing stuff, some of my suggestions are actually on the market. No royalties though!! LOL.

Within the next 6 months some modifications I suggested will be on some pressure washers. Experience, Ingenuity and ideas shape this country and our way of life. Don't be too quick to judge.

Scrappy has been holding his water pistol to tight !! He is a suit and tie guy now with million dollar dreams, and thats a good thing but he has already surpassed all us hacks when it comes to Buisness sense. Scrappy owes all he knows to DJ so if anyone has any questions about buisness or marketing or trade patents just go ahead and give him a call.

Oh yeah inventions.....I think I have found a way to stay home and make more money without working. And for $39.99 you can call me with your credit card and I will fill you in on how to apply this to your Buisness !! of course all results may vary depending on your locations, race, religion, weight, and ability to perform basic tasks. A money back garantee is negotiable in South Dakota only all other states are excluded.

Call now operators are standing by, this is a limited time offer, all other offers will not be excepted unless you wanted to pay $50.00 extra.
