Dwell Time

The time it takes for a product to work on a surface. For woodies 10 more minutes can make all the difference. It is one of the hardest things to get employees to understand. Example: 30 minute dwell time and struggle to strip, generally use too much pressure, gets off less than 90% of the old stain, takes more time. 40 minute dwell time, easier too strip, less pressure, gets off 90% or more, takes less overall time. Just sharing!

When I'm waiting I'm using a deck brush to scrub while waiting . It helps to break the bond of coating I'm stripping . This is for PT pine if you scrub cedar or redwood it will fuzz up bad so don't scrub soft woods.
