Fax me a bid

I had a residential customer call me last week and ask if I give bids over the phone. I said if I have enough detail I could give a ball park estimate. They himed and hawed and said something about paint on driveway and insurance company. The husband calls back and asks me to fax estimate. He leaves fax number without any additional details. I kind of shelve the idea and dont put any effort into getting back to them. Day 3 the wife calls me and says they really need that estimate. She says they need to file a claim with the insurance company so they can get reimbursed. She said they already did the job but just needed an estimate from a company to get paid. I said , So you dont want me to do the job you just want me to spend my time preparing an estimate so you can get paid? She said yes. I said , Sorry If you can do the job you can surely figure out what it cost. Some people!

Sounds like they were trying to scam the insurance company. These type people are why we all pay such high premiums. And by the way they would not like it if tou we to waste their time unjustly. Some people think we have nothing better to do than give estimates for work they have no intention of having done. They think FREEE ESTIMATES don't cost us anything, WRONG, the truck does not just run off of air.
 
I'd like to say I'm suprised, but I'm not. The world is full of ignorant people.
 
Y'll just kill me,lol,why not,thought we were ready to give out all kinds of info free of charge,does dat not count ..guess tho hotair is free huh.


Save me O'LORD,please over look some of these ignorant people,espec'ly me.
