Flat work pricing

What can i say MAX

It's your buissness, you do what you think is best.
In area's like mine they will steal your customer in a heart beat.

When I was down in the Dallas Fort Worth area, it was the same thing. People going around doing work for next to nothing. Just to be "working" no matter if it wasn't profitable or not. Being in this industry up here has been a good thing so far.

Last fall i cleaned and sealed a 2400 sq. ft driveway for 450.00 Total time I had involved was 3.5 hrs of labor to clean and seal it. Sealer cost me around 150.00. Cleaning Chem was around 10.00 cold water owner said it was the best job hed ever had done on that driveway but I was the highest price that he had ever gotten but went with me because of my salesmanship. After all expenses(daily operating costs figured in) I made just over 64.00 an hr for my labor. Not bad after all expenses paid. It worked out to around .19 cents a sq. ft. to clean and seal. I looked at the job and figured time + Material and now I know what to charge per square foot to clean and seal. I would imagine a good price to just clean would be around 10 12 cents. If you have nasty grease and oil im sure you would have to add more.

way to costly

Hi Mike,
I noticed you said that was for residential work(driveway)
and yes you can easily get that for residential, but forget
getting that for commercial work they just wont pay that
too many competitors working part time at night with cheap cold
wash units, using no chems, no surface cleaners, and bidding
jobs at 1-3 cents a sq ft and that is all the prop. mgr see's IS
PRICE.. Go bid commercial jobs at 10-12 cents and see how many you can get..

GOOD LUCK

rfit,
You are exactly right. Residential is one thing and commercial is a whole other story.

Oh buy the way I'm moving up to Max Robs area so I can charge 15-25 cents per sq' for commercial instead of the 20-25 cents that can be had up there. I will clean up. Would that make me a lowballer?? (Just Kidding I'm not going anywhere)
