Fried engine

The engine on my power washer has slowly been fried do to the heat and lack of cool air. My system is set up in a cargo van and only 18 months old. Recently, i had the exhaust vented thru the roof. However, I have also been told that I need to increase the air intake to the machine. Are there any other contractors that experienced this problem? Pros, cons, of other set ups?

I had a customer that had us install a hot water washer in a 5' X 8' enclosed trailer. The only door was on the back. We built a snorkel to discharge the burner exhaust out the back, but the heat generated by the engine, etc. caused the coils to overheat and misfire. He insisted that there was something wrong with the engine. I told him to get a 6' X 14' with a side door, and if it didn't work right, I'd buy him a new engine. Well, I'm not out any money, and my customer is now happy with his rig. Is yours a regular full sized van or a high cube? Many of my customers use high cubes with no problem at all.

Russ, my van is a regular ford E 150 cargo van. When I operate the power washer I have both the side and rear doors open. Until recently the exhaust was discharging inside the van; it's now vented thru the roof. I'm told it still needs more cool air inside the van.

not only do you need to vent the burner but you need to vent the exsaust from the engine. You just add a snorkel piece to your stack.
This will solve your problem's.
