Watch a Couple videos, we just tested them in the field, been using them 20 years. We have old ones that out lasted everything

I used to disagree with Ron on this. I could always come up with excuses on why others were comparable. I ended up buying a couple of reels through Delco/rahsco/powerwash.com and I could not be happier.
Here is what I noticed:
1. The guage of the metal seems to be heavier. We all know what that does, it just makes something a bit stronger.
2. The hub appears to be stainless steel. We all know that a reel will wear the paint off after a while. I have noticed that the hub appears to be shiny, and not rust, like stainless.
3. The bearings don't fail like other reels. Some of the other brands are nylon bushed, others use pillow blocks. The Hannay bearings are more of a unitized type bearing that doesn't come apart.
4. The structure of the reel stand is much more sturdy. They use little metal work tricks to make the reel stand stronger, like embossing the steel to make it more rigid.
5. They come standard with super swivels. They are without a doubt, in my mind, the best swivels. Others cost the same, or more, but they are nowhere near the quality.

These are just some of my off the cuff observations.

I have used a Hannay reel for about 5 years more or less and just this past year replaced the super swivel, I got the electric hose reel used but it works great!

I have a huge 1" hose capacity hose reel for a firefighter truck that I will be installing into the box truck as soon as I get it. It has the 1" super swivel.

Another thing about the super swivel is the inlet and outlet are a lot larger than all of the brass swivels I have seen out there so for my water supply hose, it seems like the tank fills about 2x as fast as when I had the hose reel with the brass swivel. With the Hannay hose reel there have been very few times I have had to shut down and wait for water if the supply looked good at the building before I started.

All the hose reels I will purchase from now on will only be Hannay as they are made better, stronger and have more resistance to rust than the other brands I have tried.

I have 4 of thier 1500 series reels and they have been utterly flawless for now going on 6 years. Other than grease the reel and the swivel I have done NOTHING to these reels other than use then for 5-6 days a week all year long in the cold in the heat doing KEC work and they have held up to everything.

Most of the vendors here can get the Hannay reels, Russ at Southside, Paul K., etc.....
