HD-80 on old wood

I tried HD-80 on an old deck probably 10-12 years old and it had never treated. EFC-38 has worked in the past but I thought I would try something different
I used HD-80 and 1/2oz. to 1gal. First we wet down the entire deck surface before applying the HD-80 having my worker apply the HD-80 and Me spraying it off just as fast as he was applying it. Caution to any one who would like to try this make sure you do not let the HD-80 sit on the deck to long apply and Pressure Wash off at <1000 PSI to prevent furring.

Here is a pic after Pressure Washing.
Sorry I do not have a after sealer pic.
The dark spot is where the renter though a hot pan out of the house.

1/2 oz to a gal with zero dwell time.
Why use hd80 at all?
Wish you had taken a pic of NO hd80 and 1 of the HD80.
Did it make a diffrence?
look's good. Sand out the pot mark.

I did sand out the pot mark before we sealed.

The reason I us HD-80 is the time it saves just using a little bit I can pressure wash with better results and at a faster speed then with out.

Robert,

Watch out on cedar..........Strippers can easily cause fuzzies..........where the percarbonate cleaner may not. Don't use the stripper on cedar unless you have to.

How about bleach? I was speaking with a painter who does a decent amount of power washing and he said he does a 1 to 1 ratio of bleach to water. He puts it on everything then powers it off... evenon cedar.

The arguement about using bleach on wood can go round and round much in the same way as...........which is better, Ford or Chevy??

I have used bleach on wood in the past, but I like the oxygenated bleach better..........currently I use TimberClean Pro from www.deckguide.com ...........then always follow up with a brightner.

What sealer did you use???
Beth :)

The nice thing about using percarb based cleaners is their friendly with most surroundings. My guys would by far rather use the percarb... no masking, no covering, not much of anything really where as with a stripper you have to cover EVERYTHING.

Your putting out some good work Robert :)
