Home Depot/thanks Ron M.

Ron, just wanted to thank you also for the advice you gave a while back on how to land commercial accounts. Since that time I have landed a large RV dealership, a few restaurants, some movie theaters, have been contacted by Roadway (can't do it though) and the latest has been 6 Home Depots, with more signing on because of our quality work. I do find it funny though that the place (home depot) that likes to tell everyone they can do it themselves, can't do it themselves. I figure they make me lose residential business every year so I gave them a very high bid, and they still signed. Also looks real good on my marketing campaign that my company is the one who cleans the Home Depot.

Thanks Ron.

Home Depots ?

Not To rain on anyones parade, but are you sure you have landed the
Home Depots ? I know the company that does the janitorial work
and floors for them , but also does their powerwashing, all
hundred and something stores, you better make sure before doing the
work that you will get paid, because I know for a fact 1 company does
do all their stores ?

Shoot me an email. I want to see if the company that contracted me is the same one you are talking about. Does it start with a G?
They don't do the powerwashing, they contract that out. If they do them all, I am going to be looking very pretty at the end of the year. They (if we are talking about the same company) already asked me if I would do the stores in Oklahoma. The reason I don't want to say the name of the company on here is there are too many sneaks in my area that read these boards to try to steal other companies work. Shoot me an email please.

Are you guys talking about just one region? There are way more than a hundred stores nationwide....I can think of a couple dozen just here in Florida and I'm sure there are quite a few more than that.

Just looked at their website, they claim more than 1500 stores nationwide.

Now if you could contract for ALL of those, that would be NICE! ;)

Not here, they do not get washed, and the palace guards are very good at making sure the manager is unavailable.
Just last week, I watched as they painted new yellow lines right over the gum and dirt. Today, I noticed that they do not have any paint left in those areas. Maybe I should do a demo with my phone number and say call me when you want the rest done.

Of course, making a clean spot is a capital offense. The only thing worse than dirty, is dirty with a clean spot in the middle.

I always wanted to make a stencil or something like that to leave a print on what you were cleaning with your name on it, so people could see the difference and your name at the same time...

Has anyone had a plan for this?

Matt

I would guess if you knew someone that was real handy some very thin sheet metal they could stamp you one. Hell as we all know you can get anything if you got enough money in your pocket.

Imagine the look on a stip mall owner or property MGR's face when you showed up to demo for them and you left your 4'x6' calling card in there parking lot and said "Well now you know how to get ahold of me if you want the rest done":D :D

A year or two ago on another bbs someone was talking about doing that (stencil). I'm not sure where to find that thread though.

I don't know about stencils, but I'll tell you this...I personally watched Justin leave a note on a customers walkway with his wand, freestyle...and in cursive, letting them know he would be back in the a.m. to finish the job! He is quite the artist with that 40 degree tip!

Sounds like a good idea, but may also make pm's mad. just playing devils advocate here. I do like the idea though.

It could be a money maker, "STENCIL-MATIC"........

I dont think it would make the p.m mad, but I be willing to bet it would make the cleaner unhappy, besides if you can do it better, and make a profit, than what the heck....

You get what you pay for!!!!!
