Here is some caulking prep for a House Painting in Wyomissing Pa we are performing this week. What I did is show one of my new guys how I wanted him to follow the steps I provided and he did a good job. We allow our homes to dry out for atleast 24 hours after a full caulk.
The particular caulk we are using on this home is Sherwin Williams 950A siliconized latex caulk. It comes with a 55 year warranty, creates a weather and water resistant seal and is paintable.
For every place where the boards meet, we apply the caulk, wipe the excess off, take a duster brush dipped in water and lightly brush over the area to feather it in then gently wipe it with a dry clean rag.
