House Wash Help Needed

OK I have been doing flatwork on sidewalks, dumpster enclosures for about 8 years, but I have never washed a house. This is my own house and it is painted with semi gloss paint about 8 years old or so, Now I am not going to repaint it this year maybe next year, but want to know what chems to use on it so it comes out clean and it is Nevada dirt no mold or anything just dirty from the wind. I want a wash thats not too harsh so I don't have to paint it. Could any of you house wash experts help me out on what to use to get it clean. I see a lot using simple cherry, but I'm not sure if thats what to use on this one. The paint is white with blue trim, all semi gloss.

Thanks.........Terry

Simple Cherry would work just fine.
It's a gentle but highly effective cleaner that won't strip your paint.

No need to add bleach if there is no mildew.

If you want to try to save a few bucks first then use non-Ultra Dawn- a big squirt or two in a five gallon bucket and downstream it.

abit of bleach and tide laundry soap! tide is made with color inhibitors, and works with bleach and cold water....

All I use on every house wash I do no matter what the color is sh (12%) and dawn ds'ed. Works like a charm and it is very affordable. Depending on color of the house and or trim I will adjust the strenth of the sh. If it does leave any pigment runs for some reason, ds'ing over the area again and and letting it dwell for a few minutes will usually blend it in. That hardley ever happens though!

That sound easy enough are you wetting down any grass and plants in the area of the wash. I'm sure it will help out, one of the things to know before killing my grass or plants off LOL.

Thanks for all the info guys this will help me out big time and my paint is going to look real nice too.

You can pre-wet everything... It will not hurt! If your using an X-jet you wil be done in an hour or so. Its easy! Happy washing.

do be careful with your paint!!. my machine downstreams at a 6:1 ratio. i do chlorine with a capful of the double strength tide with a couple squirts of dish detergent. it takes the mold/algae/dirt right off!! BUT!!! i gotta be careful on the volume of h2o while rinsing painted surfaces. The paint tends to want to come off if the paint was in anyway chipped prior to me washing the surface. use VERY LOW pressure while rinsing (i mean garden hose with no nozzle low). hope this helps!

The paint is in great shape so it should work good it is semi gloss paint and has held up very good, but it is getting very dirty now from all the wind we get here blowing sand and dirt around. I will use low pressure on it too, no need to blast it as it is just a little diry and should wash right off.

If you don't have mildew there is absolutely no reason to use bleach in your mix except to check to see if your paint will run or not.
