Ron,
first post, I think ... but I read a lot of the p/w boards. Most people say I listen a bunch more than talk. Anyway, my real vote should be yes, with reservations. I LOVE the price, but I join only what I think will help me/my business. $$ are kinda scarce right now, and I'm not even sure I qualify for shoestring budget status!! So I'm really trying to find out as much about p/w as I can without spending too many more $$. I'm very greatful for all the info I've picked up on the bbs. I think I've found out enough to be very scared/unsure of myself and what I've gotten into.

Oh, well, guess this'll pass.

Thanks ... again yes w/ reservations.

If the fee was more reasonable, people wouldn't be upset that there is limited resources to offer the members. The high price memberships that offer nothing of any value are simply a waste of money. Typically you get what you pay for. this evidently does not apply to national pressure washing associations.

Like many others, it's about value to me. The cost of membership obviously needs to be reasonable, but are the members getting value for their money? It doesn't matter whether it's free or $195.....If there's no value to belonging, what's the point?

There is a grand opportunity for someone to step up and lead a viable new organization that can be operated correctly without all the narcissism, nepotism and the same ol' worn out names being attached to it. Almost every organization out there that's related to this industry has the same people involved, which tends to work against itself. Though some package themselves as crusaders, obviously they aren't getting the job done!

Speaking of done.....Have a great day! :)

That’s exactly what I was thinking, reward members who actually seek education.

Free membership to all, exclusive benefits to those who actually seek knowledge.

Reward contractors by promoting to customers about certification programs.

Only market those who are certified.

Make the org. have name recognition to customers.

Make a value for associate members.

Seek out the best experts in the industry to instruct courses.

Teach demographically.

Have strong local membership and back it up with associate membership.

Ron;
As far as education is concerned it should include programs that promote:
How to deal with customers, How to present yourself as a professional.
How to discuss information intelliegently so that the client can understand what is being said. How to deal with consumer complaints.

I was just thinking about this the other day.... My Idea was about 25.00 dollars a year.... This I think would cover alot of cost to run this outfit, If only 1000 people joined, this leaves us with 25,000 dollars to work with...How much do you think it would cost to run a good complete org....

It also boils down to volunteers!!!!!!!

Some one ask me just the other day if I would look after a few things for alot of people, I flat said NO!!!! But I think I was being selfish, I will be the first person to jump up and say yes, I will help and would love to volunteer for any help some one may need to get this ball rolling...

Can we all do it, YES.

Jon Fife ask can an org. be run by contractors alone, YES.

Please step up and give some good arguments, That will bring some good questions and answers....

I for for one will listen whole heartedly to this open forum...

Yes that is huge when it comes to not for profit orgs. Finding Volunteers that will do the work is a big key into getting these org's to fly.

Good Luck

Ron, How many Bananas does it take?

It may be a start in the right direction, You are looking at least one year to start some thing any way, So we would have plenty of time to hammer out details.

Matt

John, I see that you are a pwna member, What's your take on your 300.00 membership?
