interior mold cleaning

Anybody have a clue what will melt mold like bleach but is not bleach based. We have 16 refrigerated stainless steel 4000 gallon beverge tanks that cannot be bleached but have lots of mold. They are not accessible on one side to wand so chem is going to have to do the job. Also needs to be something I can pick up locally dont have time to order online.

I know a lot of restoration companies use Sproricidin for interiors of buildings but I have not used it myself or know how fast it works.

Some janitorial supply houses and carpet cleaning suppliers have it.

Sodium Percarbonate I think will kill the mold but usually you need some pressure to remove it but like you say, one side is not accessible so not sure if that will do any good.

I might have some other ideas, give me a call Greg if you have time.

Check your state laws. You may need to be licensed for pesticides or something else to do this job.

Forgive my ignorance but... why can't they be bleached?

Because the customer said no bleach It voids the warranty on the flooring they just had applied. I dont get the pesticide license why would that even come into play.

Because you are killing a pest, i.e. mold.

Might try some vinegar on a spot and see if it works. Vinegar cleans a lot of stuff. You also stated that these were food storage tanks.

Vinegar, hydrogen peroxide or borax are good alternatives Greg and are safe to use and readily available.

Quaternary solution, you can get it at a janitorial supply place.

John I have never used Quat will it melt the mold like bleach does. Cant get to some areas to wash can only spray from afar.

Try Microban see if that will work for you.

There is nothing that will do like bleach except maybe peroxide. It will have to be very strong though and if is is in a cold area may impede the effects. The per carb might work after some dwell time if you rinse with a zero from a distance. You need to mix it strong with warm water and spray on with a pump sprayer or equivalent. Good luck.

It will kill it, you may have to rinse afterwards depending on the specific product instructions.

Sorry never heard it called that its really good stuff they use it indoors and it rids mold and the stinky smells.

Zep moved not in orlando anymore. Im not really interested in job if I cant find product that will melt mold like bleach will, tanks are less than six inches from wall no access except for gun with low pressure spray tip. The plant had already hired another contractor, shut down for the week and he walked away one hour into job. they balked at my price so im not putting any effort into it.

That is a shame Greg, you tried to help them out of a bind after their previous contractor left them in a bind.

You did what you could with their qualifications.

I know you would have done a great job if they were really wanting the place cleaned.

I wonder how much money they lost with the place shut down for the cleaning with the previous contractor?
