Keeping house wash off of roof

I'm getting ready to wash my first house with dormers, and I'm concerned about getting my wash mix (includes bleach) on the roof below the dormer's siding. Any tips other than pre-rinsing the roof section that is below the siding? Thanks.

Depends on your housewash chem.
If you use anything in it that eat's oil your going to brown the shingle's. So for the dormer's use a non limonlene mix or sodium hyd based soap.
You may find emulsifier plus from e-spec mixed with bleach best for this type of cleaning.
im lucky. I have 2 wash unit's and a helper. He just let's his washer run on the roof as i apply soap.

You could use a revised formula for that part of the house, and your regular stuff elsewhere.................however, how does this situation differ from washing the second story gable over a garage roof on an average two story colonial? It runs down the roof in that situation also..............

Thanks for your thoughts...I am planning on using a gentler formula for that area. Yes, I guess it is not much different than a colonial gable over a garage - I have yet to do one of those either!:) All I have done so far are a couple simple ranches so I haven't had to deal with the issue in any form. So I garner that ample pre and post rinsing along with a milder formula are how these are generally dealt with......Thanks again.
