I'm looking into getting pressure washing as a side job. I would like some advice on equipment I need before getting started. Here are the pressure washer and surface cleaner I'm looking at getting.

I'm also going to buy a x-jet, suttner st-2605 pressure washer trigger spray gun 5000 psi 12 gpm, mosmatic dgv swivel. The chemicals I plan on getting are dragon grip, dragon juice, apple boost cover scent, and some EBC. Am I on the right track? Would you all recommend I get something else instead of what I have listed. My budget is about $1500. I will get better equipment once I make more money. I figured I would start out with driveways and parking lots for now and once I get better I would start doing other projects.

The chemicals you mentioned cost more than the equipment you are looking at.If i were you if i wanted start washing i would talk to a company in your area an see if you could work with them for a while. To see if your gonna like it.Meanwhile i would save up a little more than 1500 for a budget. The reason i say this is you never mentioned a website or marketing plan.Just saying you are a fireman make people feel semi comfortable with you but if the phone doesnt ring you cant tell them anything.I would shoot for at least 5000 that way you can get a nice website an some good equipment to get you going you came to the right place to learn.Just start out slow an learn from someone an you will be fine.

I must have looked at the wrong prices for those chemicals.
Dragon juice $30 for 1/2 gallon $250-$550 for 5 gallons
Drip grip $15 I'm not sure quantity
EBC $22.50 1 gallon
apple boost $60 1 gallon
That's $700. The pressure washer and surface cleaner is $1300. The $1500 is for equipment. I have a few morn hundreds for chemicals. I have several jobs lined up now. I have 4 friends of mine that do different home improvement work. They havecustomer asking them about pressure washin all the time.. They said they will start sending people my way. I have several of my neighbors and church member stating that will get thier driveway done after I get my equipment.

Ok great so you have work do you have the knowledge to do it?How much insurance you have?Would hate for you to damage something an not have any it happens.I am just wanting you to think about things before you go into this head first with such a small start up capital.I would look to the vendors on this site an buy commercial grade equipment so you will be able to complete your jobs with commercial grade equipment. There is some good used equipment for sale all the time you might want to consider that a possibility.

One of my buddies has insurance and he said it $50 a month. I don't have the knowledge. I was going to practice on my driveway, neighbors, and church members driveways. I also have a friend of mine that pressure washing. I figured I would use them to gain some experience. I asked my buddy if I could go on jobs with him to gain some experience. I will look at the used equipment for sale on here. Thanks for taking the time to chat with me.
