Any recommendations for a solid (stable) hosting company with good rates? My current plan is 24mos for 70.80. They now want 3 times as much to renew.

Well, I ended up going with iPage. They had a special for 36mos @ 1.99/mo. That calculates out to less than a doll hair more than than my other plan plus the third year is free. Most of the features are about the same. Now I just have to rebuild everything from backups.

I pay a pretty penny for domain renewals. But hosting is not too bad. Overall with domain renewals and hosting I am somewhere around $2500 a year I think...

These people are making me crazy.

• Original company jacks my rates by 3 times
• I find a new company with a better deal
• account expires with original company
• new company provides a crazy account name
• I ask them if they can change it and they say yes
• they will have to re-bill me (for the new account name) and then refund the original payment
• meanwhile, PayPal has an "active subscription" to renew the original hosting and sends them the payment (??!!!)
• the new company can't complete the transaction (probably because both companies have billed me and the funds are running low)
• I explain the situation to the new company, so they just bill me again for a different rate (another ding in the account)
• new company says all the features are the same but it's on $24 for 24mos ($1/mo ... not bad)
• now I'm waiting for the refunds to show up.

The final outcome seems to be in my favor, but the frustration is intense.

You only have to pay hosting for a flat rate right, so that means about $2495 of that $2500 is for domains?
