Need Help with Bid

I was asked to bid on cleaning 25 apartment buildings. I have a company I do work for every year. However I usually only do the breezeways, stairwells, and concrete. These folks want all that, as well as all the vinyl on the outside. First, there are about 5 different styles of buildings. The ones I'm concerned with are the 3 level ones. My first concern is the height. I don't think I can reach the top with my 24foot extension wand. There are 2 that even sit on a hill. So may have to rent a lift to do some of them. That's one cost I have to factor in.(if you know the going rate please include). The big ones have 2 sets of breezeways. I will include pictures of the largest ones. There are about 11 of those. I can figure the others from that. I realize this is out of my league and will probably take on a partner. As to not take forever to complete. I hope the pics are attached. I had a difficult time.

You just have to break it down into smaller parts to figure how long it will take. Try to figure out how many days your dealing with and then add a few because it always takes longer. Make sure you have water access and enough hose to make all the sections.

Figure out how much profit you want to make and then add your estimated expenses to that.

Since you said it is out of your league, you might want to recruit another contractor to help with it. Find someone that has experience doing something like this.

Get with JL this is his expertise, although i know he is able to look at a job as i do and give a bid on time and materials..

It's easy to overthink big jobs. Most of the time when you really start to figure it out, it's not as crazy as you originally thought.

I'll be in Knoxville starting 2/1/09 doing about 400 apartment buildings. Ride over and I'll be glad to help if I can or call me. 919-524-3875. I will be there for most of the month.

There ya go!

It's all hourly. How mant manhours to complete it.The first thing I would do would be to throw that 24 ft extension wand off your trailer and you will have to learn how to use tips and nozzles to reach the heights instead of hard labor.

The lift you can get a quote over the phone.Be sure to ask about insurance because some places require 2 million in liability to rent to you.
