new cold water pw?

I need a new cold water PW this spring. I have been using a 13 hp Honda direct drive the last 3 yrs. Would like to go bigger.

was thinking about this,

and get the 18hp kohler 5.6gm 3,500psi gear drive for $1,785.00

would like your thoughts, good or bad? or can I get better elsewhere?

What application are you going to be using the cold water washer for? This would make it easier to give advise.
If you want more gpm but less pressure, you could put a 2021 gear drive on your existing honda 13 and get 5.6 @ 2600 or so. This would cost less than half of the new machine.

I agree with Michael. Really depends on what you are intending on doing with it. Surface cleaning results in improved performance and workmanship depending on the PW used. My 5.5 GPM, 3500 PSI which is both a hot/cold machine is particularly beneficial when it comes to surface cleaning. I have a smaller cold water machine like yours (4GPM, 4000PSI), which I used on smaller vinyl properties, wood cleaning etc...

well, I do house washes, concrete and decks. Hey Paul, you got any good sales going on?

If the concrete is residential only, you may be ok without hot water most of the time. 5.6 @ 2600 is more than adequate for what you would be doing. You can get the larger tips for a SW setup or use a 5.5 - 6.0 for the higher pressures. The beauty of the 13hp is the thing will last almost forever, it is easy to move around and they are a dime a dozen. I would change out the pump before spending 1800 on a cold water machine with bigger performance. Make some more $$ with the little cold water and save some cash for a larger 8gpm hot machine.
