New Rig Suggestions

Ok, everyone, I am needing to put some ideas together for comming up with a traveling rig. Any suggestions would be helpful. This is for cleaning a chain of resturants over a 3 state area.

What exactly do you mean by a traveling rig?

I am looking for something like a truck trailer combo that I can get decent gas mileage out of, but still be able to tow equipment in trailer.

Have you seen lance winslows?

Just kidding, are you planning on useing a moto home? maybe a toy hauler with the PW in the rear.

If you use a small rv you could use a small trailer. or a pcikup with a camper on the back with a trailer behind.

How much are you going to spend?

OK update

I guess this thing is turning into something bigger than I had thought. It's a that point to where, you ask yourself if your over extending oneself. I am in deep thought about these proposals, and I suppose if I go forward with it, I will be looking at a new 2 ton truck, and a fith wheel trailer. with a camper in it and all. So it's in limbo right now, until I decide if I want to do it.

Have you ever thought about a van set-up?
thats all we use, when we go out of town, a van is nice and secure and theres no equipment left in the weather and you can
lock it up at night and go get a room.

actually, I have a box van setup right now, but I am thinking that it wouldn't be a good idea for an over the road kind of rig. But maybe a regular van that was properly setup might work. Then I could just pull a water tank behind it.

If your doing hoods why would you want to pull a tank?
why not hook up to the stores water?

The only difference in the local use and the on-road use should be the amount of plastic and chemical you carry. I can go for a week with an extra roll of plastic and a 5 gallon bucket of chemical. Don't forget an overnight bag. If you want to go on the cheap, sleep in the van and use truck stops to shower in. My van, a one ton step van, is set up for all of the services we offer, except fire alarms, and works just fine. Sometimes I have to step on/over pipe and fire extinguishers, but it works. The gas mileage on my one ton is only 6 or 7 MPG, while the 3/4 ton ford gets 12 or 13.

are you considering a rig which you can sleep in and shower or just a traveling rig and stay in a motel a night. I do alot of traveling and i use a convertion van with a 14 ft enclosed trailor. I have a set which i can shower in the trailor and still have room for all of my equipment then i simply sleep in the convertion van which can be very comfortable and saves alot on motel exspenses

actually, I am looking at a freightliner truck with a custom box on it. The front half of the truck would be an RV type of setup, and the back is going to hold the PWing equipment. This setup is a 30 ft rig. I got the idea from my parents RV they build. They put thier mazda miata in the back of it when they go traveling. mine would have less of the RV, and more of the storage room. Total cost on it should be about 35,000 to 40,000.

I have often wondered of using a set up like that. If you accquire it, let us know how its working out. Would you have to have any special drivers liscense for that such as a class a or b ?

No special drivers licence required. single axle.
