Paver block Sealing

Slim Pickens

Hi Guys

First time adding form Iwas wondering what I could use to remove the sand inbetween the pavers. Right now I'm using a
0 tip and it takes to long .I also thought maybe Roto head but it
may damage the pavers Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

Remove sand?

You are kidding, right? You don't want to remove the sand that is holding the brick paver in place. What did I miss? what is is your question?

No I'am not Tim I need to remove it to sweep in a compound
that when I apply the sealer it locks in the pavers and the same
time it keeps the weeds from coming up through the cracks.

Mike I tried that it takes more time than doing it with a powerwasher.I called the company again to see if they have a
better way they said the way I'am doing it now is the best way .
Mike I was thinking of trying the water broom but I don't much
about it maybe I will give them a call.

Thanks

Jim,

What product are you using to keep the weeds from growing between the pavers?

Paul

It's [surebond] I have only been using the product for one Yr
and have seen great results.Just trying to cut down on prep time.

Jim,

Thanks!

Have a couple more questions (if you dont mind).

- Are you buying direct or do they have distributors?
- What's the approx. cost per gallon?

Thanks again!

Hey Paul

Sorry it to me so long went out on a couple of estimates today
for your questions I'am buying from a distributor. The gal cost
is running me around $49.00 a gal high right but I was still able to make sales last yr. this yr already did 6 est today if the rain and cold weather would only stop I would be in good shape hope this helped you.

Thanks again!

Cost is justified if it keeps the weeds out.

We're are having a bit of snow today - couple of days ago it was 70. CRAZY!!!

Many people out in ohio have pavers?because here it's popular
and nobody is sealing like I'm doing.

Jim,

They are semi-popular around here. Lot of the Do-It-Yourselfers buy them at places like Home Depot but they don't do a real good job of installing. Within a year or two, the pavers are popping up, they have weeds growing out and they need cleaning. I don't believe these pavers come sealed as I've been quoting repair, clean & seal jobs.

hey Jim have you got pictures of before and after I would like to check into that form of cleaning pavers. The folks I talk to have serious misgivings about cleaning and sealing pavers because they lose the sand. I would like to know the process if possible and how do you bid it by the square foot or what?
Thanks for the info and the idea.

At the moment I don't have any pics to show my scanner is broken. As for potential customers the object is to remove 1/8 of
sand but I found that it's better to take a little bit more. The idea is to put back fresh clean sand then flood driveway and squeegee
it off into the cracks so you get the best absorbtion. As for Sq fT
it's about 1.10 Sq FT you can look the company up on the net at
surebond.com I don't buy direct I buy from a dist.

Anything more I can help you with
Please feel free to ask.
