Pool deck help!!!!

We have been asked to clean a Country Club pool deck. It is made of pea grave and is stained from the chemicals used in the pool.

Hard to see with that picture, it just looks wet.

Do you have any from different angles and from far away to show the stain better?

Muratic Acid, 10:1 is usually the best solution for pool decks. But from your picture I see 2 problems; the pitch on the grade will cause the acid to concentrate in the center flow path, and not be very effective. Secondly, looks like plastic expansion joint spacers. Not sure how well those will hold up to the acid. If it's silicone caulk, you should be fine.

I've cleaned exposed aggregate like that with just hot water and 15 degree tips.

I might think about one of the 'high end' acids from eacochem or prosoco, they're 'buffered' and 'formulated' - whatever that means I do like the way they work and have gotten away from the straight acid in a lot of situations. nmd 80, saferestore, and glazed surface cleaner from eacochem, prosoco number something, klenstone is a product I have seen do excellent work also (contains fluoride salts). I have seen stains and deposits that straight muriatic had no effect on and one of these went right at it. If it's tough, cover with plastic and 'marinate'.

That's a great suggestion. I've never used Safe Restore or any of the other EacoChem products, but I did just order some samples.

They have some great products, I have been using them for years now.

We have used saferestore on granite and it worked well. We plan on doing a sample area so we can show the results before signing the proposal.
