Pool Shock = Chlorine?

Its probably calcium hypocholorite, not sodium hypocholorite. I keep a little of the ch in the van if i'm in a pinch, I can spike a batch of roof or house wash mix, but it can be problematic to use as your primary mildewcide. I've read of difficulties getting it to properly dissolve and also of it leaving residue on roofs.
 
JBurd - thank you brother. i have a 50 ga bucket of shock sitting, waisting away.. so my thoughts were why not convert it to liquid on a job let it do its thing.. essentially it should do the same, no?

Sure. Proceed with caution if you're not 100% sure what it is. I think AC with Soft Wash Systems has charts out on the web about mixing ratios for both sh and ch, so I'd do half the proper ratio of each till I used it up if I were you. However, if you find its not working like you want, you might waste more time messing around with it than the $ savings you're getting on chemicals.
 
for the most part right now, its just for concrete flat work. thoughts?

.. also, side note.. any input on using surfactant with this or liquid chlorine? cling-on ok?
 
I use SH. Never used CH. At any rate the surfactant of my choice is Roof Snot. Russ at SouthSide Equipment can hook you up with the Snot. Great stuff! Some guys are using EBC. I use EBC for drive thru's and fuel pads. Both are really great products.
 
U can get Liquid pool shock that is 12.5% SH. Not aure if you already had the granular or just asking a general question.
