Power of colors.

Just wondering if someone has researched the use of colors in their marketing?
I'm talking logo colors, truck wrap colors, the colors used in marketing. I see most pressure washing guys use blue and white. Lot's with the little drops of water in the background. I've used that myself and it works.
Just asking if blue is actually one of those colors people respond to? I am trying to set myself apart from other washers in my area, simply because there are so many!

I like red and gold(or yellow), has anyone researched that combo? or does anyone see a downside to that?

I like yellow(gold), black and red, sort of McD's colors, just not sure how that would translate to pressure washing. I'd like my truck red or black, but I think that might not work, especially here in FL where it is in the 90's all summer. Might be an oven. I see TY uses black and red and he seems to do fairly well in an oven... : )

Although superman uses gold and red with blue also! He does pretty good too!

I read somewhere recently that colors have very little to do with anything......not that I agree......but I'll leave it at that......Lol!
I read that too...then I read the opposite : /
What made you choose your colors Guy? personal preference, or the perception that pressure washing means blue(and red)? Just trying to pick brains.

Actually you have little color from what I see, white with blue and red text. That seems simple and I would recognize the truck or van coming down the street. I am trying to keep it simple and reproducible on everything. I plan on adding a truck or two in the future.

Ahhh Guy.

They don't really matter at the end of the day though man. They really don't. Sure they play a miniscule factor, but it's not the deciding one. If you have a shit service, or you suck at sales... You're not going to get business.

It's as simple as that.

Get noticed. Make sales. Give great service.

Hey Guy, speaking of colors... I received a phone call today and it seems that I have a couple of our old 'pals' seeing RED!! lol

Colors are a part of your marketing/branding strategy and how consumers identify you from your competitors.......so what colors should you use?

For us Red, White, Blue & Black......why?....Our market is mainly Military fueled, so goes without saying. Why do I wear white button down shirts, even if I'm washing? Because white means "Clean"..... Think about it......have you ever seen a Doctor with a black lab coat? Same for our trucks, mainly white along with our brand colors.

Marlboro Reds, Blue Oval, Golden Arches, etc.....

Who ever said colors are "The Deciding Factor" Luis? I certainly didn't. Colors don't matter, logos don't matter, branding/marketing don't matter.....as long as you close the sale & provide great service.....it's as simple as that?

You still don't get it.

That's great man. Your brand said nothing about associating with military, nor did the colors seem patriotic to me.

Unless you explicitly say so, I doubt your clientele thinks any differently.

ALLLLLLLLLLL I'M SAYING IS... YES, colors play a role in your marketing.. I AGREE WITH WHAT YOU'RE SAYING (for the 10000000000000000000000th time)

But... colors do not make or break a brand. They are a visual aid. Yes, it's true... some people are attracted to certain colors (partially based on preference, and partially based on those emotions that are created)

If the logo draws any attention, the only way you draw a phone call from the end user is if they're even in the market for such a service. AND ONLY!!! Only if you prove yourself to be an authority figure in your niche (through your sales tactics)

AND THEN!!!! YOU REALLY EARN BUSINESS WHEN YOU'RE DAMN GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO!

Color plays a small role for the intial attention. So does your call to action, and the relevancy of your message vs. their needs...

The use of 'lab coats' was actually a marketing tool. The lab coats projected a sense of professionalism and seperated the doctors / scientists from everyone else wearing suits. It's not really the color that matters as much as what sets it apart from everything else.

When it comes to colors, blue and green are the top 2 colors to use in advertising (think water and eco-friendly). But while any color combination can work, colors that are complimentary work the best.

I respect anyone's opinion....right or wrong....but you can't disagree with facts and the studies that back them up. We as small business owners need to think like Corporate Giants. We should employ the same mindset and tactics they do.....Interesting Reading.
