Problem with surface cleaner

When it dries they are very visible. I tried making a second pass in the opposite direction and now I have a home owner with a giant chess board on his drive. I am running 2 - 4.5 nozzles

Striping can be caused by too low of heat, too narrow tip size, or moving too fast. Eliminate each process and see why your leaving stripes. First, slow down and see if that works. Many times you will appear to be cleaning the surface sufficiently, but where you over lap, it gets cleaner. That says "too fast". Same thing can happen with too low of heat. Your just not cleaning the surface to its cleanest. If you're really getting the surface clean, you shouldn't see stripes. If you feel that your speed and temp are good, go with wider patterned tips. Also, tips don't last real long in a surface cleaner. They get a LOT of wear from sand and debris being blasted off the surface. These are the most common reasons for the stripes. A longer dwell time for your concrete cleaner can help also.

Thanks Mike. I'll let yoy know what I come up with. It can't be the Temp just because I ran it today @210. I also tried slowing down to a snails pace. I understand it must be over lapping but I think I need to try an assortment of nozzle sizes. All I know is , I need to figure it out because is just shouldn't be happening. Thanks again,
Tony

You may want to try angling the tips a little more agressive so that the unit spins much faster. Also I would not reccomend using a 30" surface cleaner if your only putting out 5gpm.

We went from 0* tips, which is what came on our SC, to 25* tips and it stopped our striping problem.

I have a Hydro Tek 28" and I had the same problem. The stripe is the overlap. It's where the concrete is getting hit two times by the nozzels. You are removing the cream. I would bet if you change out the 15 degree tips it came with and put in 25 degree tips it will stop.

hey grady try lifting one side of the SC before you pull the trigger.then drop it and start moving. dont let go until you ar done with the line/area
