pump life

how long would you say the average pump should last. I have what I would consider a new machice still... my landa has about 500 hours on it and I am told the heads are pitted. how long should a pump last if you take care of it?

That really depends on where your getting your water from and keeping it filtered before the pump. I know that I go thru at least 3 seal kits a year on each machine because I pull mainly from hydrants.

Depends on the pumps. Half of my water comes from hydrants also. Some of my Udors are 5 years old and have never been opened. When I used generals they lasted about 6 months before be opened up.

filter your water and dont run dry and any commercial grade pump should last at least a couple years.

I currently have 50 mesh (I believe) only one filter before the pump on my machines. Do you guys put more than one on the line? I remember Tom with H&M puts two filters on his setups. Would that considerably prolong the longevity of the pump? Filters are not expensive, so if that's the case I will add more ..
