Pump Upgrade

I was thinking of upgrading the pump on my landa skid from a ts2021 (or landas version of the 2021 5.2 @ 3500). It is a 20hp Honda with the 115 volt generator. hat kimd of psi can I expect out of it with an 8 gpm pump on it.

I am not a math guy.... I am sure someone knows these formulas....

Adding PSI drops GPM

GPM X PSI divided by 1100 = horsepower required. So at 8 GPM you would only get 2750 PSI.

So if you push it to 4,000 psi it will drop it down to 5gpm?

I have to wonder why they sell the same size packing for smaller and larger claims of GPM. on the pumps.

I would think if its larger GPM then the packing would be also larger.

A more realistic, engine saving formula is [(gpm X psi) / 1450] X 1.5

No, the gpm is the constant, the psi is the variable. A certain pump, spinning at a certain rpm, produces X gpm.
The different pumps that use the same packing are either rated for different rpms or have different strokes on the crankshaft.

SO then 2400 to 2500 psi would be more like it.... Thanks for the replies!
 
2500 at 8 gpm - plenty strong I bet, what kind of cleaning?
