Hi guys, I just have a couple of questions for now. I have a 125gal tank in my van and a 3000psi, 4gal per minute pressure washer, as you know it gets real cold up here. How do I stop my system from freezing? I was told to put antifreeze in the tank, then I was told that antifreeze will destroy my seels in the pump, whats the real deal? I got my first job starting next week cleaning bread trucks, whats the best way to go about this? Any other tips would be great.

Anti freeze will not damage any internal parts of your pump. In fact, it keeps them lubricated during extended down time. Your best bet would be to disconnect the tank and drain it, get a short piece of hose and install it where the tank hose was, and draw antifreeze out of a bucket.

Thanks for the fast reply. My first account is twice a week, is'nt it alot of work to disconnect my tank and suck up anifreeze twice a week. Is there an easier way?

We have a system that pumps anti-freeze through then we blow it out with an air compressor daily - it's not that big of a deal, most especially when you look at the alternative.

We have an Econoline van with a 250 gallon water tank and a 3500psi/7.xgpm hot water unit mounted in the back. The van has a divider wall from about the back of the sliding side door back to the rear doors. It is insulated with the foam spray in stuff and a layer of that solar bubble wrap.

We use a small 8,000 BTU propane heater which runs off a 40lb tank for roughly 2 weeks.

When temps get down below 5 degrees at night, a small electric heater gets thrown in as well.

The only bad thing is on a 0 degree morning it's 60 degrees in the back of the van, but your hands are frozen to the steering wheel inside the cab!

I hate to disagree with all the pro's on this. Anti frezz is good and it works.

I just preffer other methods.

I like bug juice, windshield washer fluid. its not as good but its safe.

Antifrezzz is poison. If you use caution its great. But I have seen guys not reusing and just dumbing on the side of the road.

Make sure you reuse and capture as much as possible.
