towell service

I use a service named aramark. I get uniforms, for four employees & @150-200 towells a week for $120.00 a month. They deliver & I don't have to work with dirty clothes, the uniforms look good & I have plenty of towells. I tried buying them & all other ways but this is the best for us.

David,

We buy those cotton terry towels 14X17 from Sam's Club. A bag of 48 is just over $13.00. When they get stiff we carry them to the local laundromat on illegal-alien-night and wash the heck out of them. Two washes and they're trash.

I use Aramark for rags-It just seem to be priced high-about $75 per week. When I was useing them local coin cleaner-I was told don't come back. Keep in mind I cleaned the washers and dryers after use. Plus, I never replace rags with Aramark, they just replace the damaged ones.

David,

Buy your wife a new washer & Dryer and use the old ones to wash rags and unifioms.

I am on a septic system-near a wetland with fish and other wildlife-If I washed rags,I would be on "60 min. next week" as a example of polution damage and clean up.

I thought that was every night...... I tried the soak and wash at the laundromat but was relly time consuming. I started using the blue disposable shop towels that they sell at Home depot for 1.88 a roll. I usually use one roll on a regular hood system, as I use them I throw them in the catch bucket or down on the floor to catch and spills and they end up in the dumpster at the end of the job.

I have lots of rags, But I do go to the laundrymat and wash about once a month, To keep them clean between jobs I rinse alot and more often I rinse some more I can do a job with about three towels and one for polish.

I also do alot of bit#%#$ between about my time to clean the towels.

I tried paper towells at first. My cost per job was $3.00, for 2 rolls of towells. The used towels were thrown on the floor, where they did double duty soaking up water. Then I hired helpers. My cost went up. Then I tried to wash towells myself. A 3 gallon bucket of SH in the washing machine did not even start to clean the nasty greasy things. Washing 2 or 3 times did not work. And I had to hold my breath while dumping the SH into the washer.

Now I send them to the local laundry @ $1.40 per pound. Sometimes they are not even able to get them clean. I do have an agreement with the lauandry. Any towells that have their mark, get cleaned and billed to me, and they keep the towells. Any towells with any other marks, I get them back.

We do run some of the rags through the dishmachine to remove some of the grease, but that is not very effiecient. I tried using the PW, but found that tore up the rags.

I do keep the white towells and the red towells separate. The red rags do not work to clean hoods.

WOW thanks for the info Josh....i got to find them..

Laugh now but when I'm done with gigs in sun city I hit the lake. Have 7 hammocks poles ..ect So my 89 chevy step van looks like 20lbs of sh*t in a 5lbs bag, gets the job done. I've never put much thought into looking good just being good.
