I'm trying to get a contract with a major gas company here in Canada for doing their individual stations. I want to wash the concrete where the pumps are, or at least clean them of gas and diesel stains. What is the best way to clean them? Would it be hot water and a recapturing system put into place? Or is there a waterless system such as soda blasting that I can use for cleaning up grease, gas stains and diesel spots? It's pretty much illegal to wash it without recapturing it. What can you suggest and is there someone I can talk to up here in Canada? The person whom I spoke to is interested in a waterless system if I can use it.

Try to use clean-crete from Delco Cleaning... I heard is does not work that well...After it rains its gone and it more like a cover up then anything...Looks like baby powder, Im told

This thread is perfect, clean crete is a great product and is simply no cover up. People whom have seen the product except Jon can clearly say this product is a superior absorbent.

I would like Mike Hughes and Rick who have both seen this in action to actually voice there opinions. in a service station & parking garage setting this product has its place. its not going to replace pressure washing but if you cant pressure wash this is a great product.

Matt, please don’t take offense to my comment. If you have not actually seen a product please don’t give and opinion of others. Those opinions of the people you speak have never seen this product in action either.

Matt, thankyou for participating and once again please don’t take offense. paveclean just hits a bad spot with me because I know the real reason some of these individuals down this product. It’s only to keep it to them. They are doing a great job of it. I will ask Jim from PCI to join the conversation. calling JIM YO JIM!!!!
 
I have seen the product demo'ed, and met the owner of the company. It was pretty cool, but I have not had the opportunity to try it for myself. I know people who use it, and I know they wouldn't use it if it didn't work!

I understand clearly what it does and I understand your view on it too.

To remove a liability from a customers property, and for that it works great, put it on the area where the oil and grease drops, brush it in and sweep it up. That is in simple terms how it works, not going into the deeper end of it.

Now what I keep saying is it does not clean the whole area, you still have the gum, dirt and bird droppings and what not to contend with.

That requires pressure washing to remove.

That is my point, and if it was considerably less costly.

Now if I came upon a customer who wanted that used I might consider it but I feel the cost to us is way out of line in order to make a profit of say $5 to $8 per parking stall.

I cannot see this as a proper tool for a gas station, parking lots yes but gas stations no.

I am not looking of a debate on this product as we both saw the demo along with a few others.

My point is there are limited amount of things it can be used on, again mostly where the grease and oil drop from car engines.

No offense taken, Opinion are just that, Opinions... I had learned that from which I thought was a good source...May have been mislead (sounds like i was) to believe that this product was not a good product from the get go...Again no offense taken...

Jon, I got ya,,, has anyone ever seen a gas station spread kitty litter all over the place. I have and that in it self is a liability. They do care about the oil that’s being dropped not only from a liability standpoint but also from a environmental stand point.

EXXON MOBIL just signs a contract with a competitor of paveclean to have a 35-pound barrel and a recycled container for the waste. The contract is worth several thousand dollars and I’m sure they will keep it.

Yes Jon this will not replace pressure washing. It is replacing regular maintenance.

Jon in the original question the poster has said the customer is asking for dries options. We all would never recommend this as being better only and option when a customer needs a dry process.

Jon I want to ask you just one question. When Jim demo the product did you see the grease ball up and go away in the compound? Just a yes or a no please


You’re a friend of mine and I’m not trying to ride you just trying get my point across. I think we are both on the same page. Just looking at it from different views.

Dry cleaning products are wining some of these contracts. Guys you should get one for your tool bag…..

Jon will use one one day he just doesn’t know it yet.
 
Ron is right, there will come the day I use it, why because Jim and I have bid on the same jobs before not knowing it and if I want to continue to grow and be competitive I will have to match the competition.

Sure the reclaim system has its place and I use it for that but there are prospective customers who do not what an entire pressure wash job.

What they want is the liability removed and that means without water in most cases.

And what Ron has said about kitty litter, sand and such yes I see it all the time, mostly your independant garage owner does that and yes he knows darn well he is breaking the laws. They will continue doing it till they get caught, why, one reason cost, they figure they save $$, one hefty fine changes their attitude and ways.

HAS ANYONE USED DOMINION DR-60 A CONCRETE CLEANER ? THEY SAY (DOMINION)"ITS THE BEST THING TO HIT DRIVE THRUS". DELCO SELLS IT. ANYBODY OUT THERE USE IT ? DAN COSGROVE
